- DIY Iron-on patch at home instructions. - Set the iron to "high heat" on the temperature setting. - Lay your garment flat on the ironing board and ensure there are no wrinkles on the garment. - Preheat the garment where the patch will be attached. You should protect your garment by putting a cloth between the iron and the garment. - Position your iron-on patch, cover it with a cloth and apply firm pressure for at least 60 seconds. - Repeat the ironing process again to ensure the glue has adhered to the garment. - Repeat this step through the reverse side of the garment. - Be sure to use your thin cloth, sheet or pillowcase so you don't burn the garment. - Set your garment aside and let it cool back down to room temperature.
